“One of the best investments that our corporation has made over the last few years has to do with the initiatives that we’ve pursued jointly with the in Columbia,” says David S. Haffner, president and CEO of Leggett and Platt, Inc.
J.P. Leggett and C.B. Platt were both residents of Carthage, a county seat in southwest Missouri, when they formed their business partnership in 1883. Today, is a S&P 500 diversified manufacture that collaborates with MU to provide research, development and evaluation services.
Haffner says the partnership allows his company to pursue significant additional research at a lower cost because they can collaborate with experts from many disciplines including civil, industrial and mechanical engineering.
