A collaborative effort including University of Missouri Extension is bringing together fiber enthusiasts in southwest Missouri.
The first "Fiber Daze" event was held last fall at Crowder College in Neosho. According to Dr. Jodie Pennington, small ruminant educator with Lincoln University Extension, the event featured teachers in all areas of the fiber arts.
Attendees had the oppotunity to learn to spin their own yarn, improve their knitting skills, dye different types of fibers, and take their weaving to the next level, Pennington said.
The event was a joint venture with University of Missouri Extension, Lincoln University Cooperative Extension, Crowder College Department of Agriculture and the Fiber Folks of Southwest Missouri, a local fiber guild.
