A team of researchers from the University of Missouri presented promising evidence that a compound from a pesky plant could possibly be used to treat acne and infections. The Eastern Red Cedar often hinders farming, but research suggests that chemicals from its needles and bark were effective as a topical acne treatment as well as an anti-microbial agent against tetanus, strep throat and anthrax. A small dose of the compounds was also extremely effective against deadly staph infections.
