The hosted a successful Field Day on Sept. 13, 2011, which included members of the Steelville FFA.
High school agricultural education students from across the state were invited to participate in a day of learning at the farm. Speakers presented information about ongoing research and related agricultural topics. Students participated by going on three separate tours around the farm with short information stops on each tour.
In one of the sessions, Steelville students discussed several ways in which computers could be used on farms. Together they composed a list including: manage finances, networking with other farmers, advertising, soil testing online, and monitoring productivity.
