The Tri-Lakes Telecommunication Resource Center in Reeds Spring provides residents access to college classes for credit and continuing education, video-conferencing for individuals, businesses and organizations, computer classes, multimedia computer software, meeting facilities and Internet access.
Some rural areas of Missouri are often prevented from benefiting fully from the many advantages offered by information and communication technologies. In this sense, the Tri-Lakes Telecommunication Community Resource Center can be seen as a crucial information and communication resource for all of Stone and Taney counties, supporting the goal of universal information access.
The Tri-Lakes TCRC offers resources to help bridge the digital divide, primarily through the public access to computers and the internet. This center is a key part of what is now being referred to as digital inclusion program. The Telecenter Network links resources from communities, the University of Missouri and other research-based sources to improve the quality of life and economic well-being of Missourians.
