In December, the University of Missouri-Kansas City purchased its first eco-friendly, all-electric truck. The truck is the school's first step toward decreasing carbon emissions and reducing noise around campus and nearby neighborhoods. It is powered by Lithium-Ion batteries and a 120kw electric motor with a top speed of 55 mph. The vehicle will be used to service the university's recycling programs on the Volker and Hospital Hill campuses.
