UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI BOARD OF CURATORS MEETING: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Listening Session with Student Groups
3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Nov. 20, 2015

In light of recent events, the Board of Curators wishes to hear directly from students on the Columbia campus about the climate experienced by minority students there and the problems and issues raised recently by graduate students.

For that purpose, the Board of Curators will meet to conduct a listening session from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at Reynolds Alumni Center in Columns Rooms D & E on the University of Missouri campus.  The meeting will provide an opportunity for student representatives of recognized and ad hoc student groups from the Columbia campus to address the Board regarding these issues.

Each group will be allotted up to 20 minutes to address the Board with the meeting concluding no later than 6 pm.  Student groups wishing to address the Board must register a request to do so by e-mailing the Board Secretary at harmonc@umsystem.edu by Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m. The request should identify the group and provide the name(s) and contact information of the student representative(s) who will speak for the group. This is not intended to be a news conference and only comments from student group representative(s) will be permitted during the listening session.

Consistent with the purpose of the meeting as a listening session, the Board will not take actions at the meeting.
